Lorraine Mary Ann Bailey (nee Wurtz)

Lorraine passed away surrounded by family and loved ones on July 1, 2019 at the age of 67. She was born on April 1, 1952 in Saskatoon, SK, to her parents Jessie and Alfred Wurtz. Soon after the family moved to Chilliwack, BC. After High School, Lorraine went to Nursing School and started her career at Chilliwack General Hospital. This is where she met her husband of 40 years, and love of her life, William (Bill) James Bailey. Lorraine may have been small in stature but she was always full of life and vigour. Family has been very important to her and she was always by her daughter's sides at every dance competition. Lorraine and Bill also became avid travellers having taken many cruises to Hawaii and the Caribbean. She had three happy places: her Kitchen, her Sewing Room, and in the company of her Grandsons Gunner and Cooper. She will always be remembered for her incredible baking, hand crafted fashions, and being the best Nana in the World.
Lorraine is survived by her husband Bill, daughters Shauna, Shelby (Derek), grandchildren: Gunner and Cooper, brother Cal Wurtz (Trudy), and many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank the wonderful nurses at the Cascade Hospice for their care and her physician of many years, Dr. Ken Hirst. The family respectfully declines flowers, asking instead that Lorraine's friends and acquaintances make a donation to the Chilliwack Hospice Society.
A Celebration of Life will be held on July 8th from 2 - 5 pm at the SureStay Hotel by Best Western - 43971 Industrial Way, Chilliwack, BC. All are welcome to attend to share stories and memories.
