Lorraine Margaret Teschke

September 29, 1927 - January 15, 2019
Lorraine Margaret Teschke was born on September 29, 1927 in Columbia Valley. She passed away in Chilliwack on January 15, 2019 at age 91. Predeceased by her sons Darryl and Ken, and, the father of her five children, Karl Teschke. Survived by daughters Arlene, Lauretta (Jim), and Sandra (Robert), daughter-in-law Heather, 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

Mom worked for more than 30 years in the food preparation industry at both Fraser Vale and York Farms with positions including First Aid, Forelady and Parts. But Mom's main passion was her farm in Columbia Valley where she grew "everything under the sun." She also raised beef and chickens. Her garden was massive and she loved to provide vegetables and fruits for her whole extended family, friends and neighbours through to her mid-eighties. Mom's hobbies included collating the history of Columbia Valley, carpet bowling, baking, playing Scrabble, preserving fruits, fish, meats and vegetables, watching her DVD's, making pierogies and playing crib, especially with Ken and Darryl.

A stroke in 2015 changed Mom's world forever. Following a six month hospital stay, she resided at Eden Care Home until her passing. Thank you to all family members and friends who were able to visit her during these last three years as well as attending birthday parties and teas for our Mom. A special thank you to Dr. Heather Leyen and the staff at Eden who showed so much love and caring to the end.

Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 2 pm from the chapel of Henderson's Funeral Home. Reception to follow. Henderson's in charge of arrangements.
