Hughes, Loretta. Loretta passed away on October 21, 2013 at the age of 57, at the Abbotsford Hospital after a brave and valiant fight against cancer. She was born October 17, 1956 in Manitoba.
Loretta moved to Chilliwack, BC where she raised her son David and met and married her husband, Dave Hughes.
Loretta was a very strong person and had wonderful outlook on life. While raising her son she was very active with home schooling. Upon securing her son's education she began working toward her PhD in Psychology. She worked for the Ministry of Children and Families in 100 Mile. She developed a love for the Hughes Ranch and country lifestyle. She and Dave hoped to retire in the Caribou. One of Loretta's greatest joys was seeing her son marry his wife Ashley and being blessed with her grandson, Lincoln. Loretta is survived by her husband and love of her life, Dave Hughes; son David; daughter-in-law Ashley and grandson Lincoln; step son Mike; step daughters, Brenda and Linda; sisters Cec and Megan; brothers Normand, John and Gord; mother Cecelia Ferguson and numerous other relatives, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A memorial will take place on Tuesday, Oct 29, 2013 at 1:00pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 45865 Hocking Ave, Chilliwack. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society or Chilliwack Hospice.
