Lois Verona THOMPSON

Lois Verona Thompson (nee Blabey) passed away in Abbotsford on July 31, 2004 at the age of 96. She was born to Luke and Martha Blabey on February 29, 1908 in Dauphin, Man. Lois married her husband, Edward Arthur “Art” Thompson, in Dauphin, Man. on October 13, 1930.

Lois loved children, music and she particularly enjoyed birds. She loved to do crafts, make pictures and did a lot of church work for children.

Lois is survived by her only child, daughter Evelyn (Murphy) Johnson of Merritt, B.C. and treasured friend Roy Murphy, brother to Evelyn. Six grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived her brothers and sisters, Stanley (Alva) Blabey of Rosedale, Alma (Oscar) Reimche of Lacombe, Alta., Myrtle (Ray) Neufled of Lewiston, New York, Ray (Vi) Blabey of Dauphin, Man., Neil (Alma) Blabey of Hazelton, B.C. and Ethel (Ed) Heisler of Horse Shoe, North Carolina.

Lois was predeceased by her husband, Art, in 1991, two grandsons; Gary and Dennis Owen Johnson, two sisters; Annie Jones of Chehalis, Washington and Pearl (George) Strong of Greenville, Kentucky.

Services will be held on Friday, Aug. 6, 2004 at 2 pm in the Chapel of Henderson’s with Pastor Jim Wyman officiating, assistant Pastor John Gilbert. Interment to follow at Carman Cemetery.
