June 18, 1954 - April 19, 2021
It is with heavy hearts that her family announces the sudden passing of Linda Willms. Linda was born in Mission, BC on June 18, 1954 to Patricia Christine Michell and Stanley Moody Michell.
She was the oldest daughter among her 11 brothers and sisters, and so at a young age became the babysitter and mother to her siblings while her parents were working. Linda worked hard all of her life, climbing steep slopes with fish on her back, and processing fish at her families fishing grounds in the Spuzzum/Yale area. Later in life she worked as a chicken catcher, cook, flagger, caring for sick and elderly, and helping others wherever she could.
In 2010 Linda met her husband, and had 11 years of loving him and being loved by him. Linda had a heart of gold, determinedly standing up for her principals and planning ahead for the potential needs of her family. She thought of others before herself, even while struggling to breath in ICU at the hospital.
While in ICU, Linda was diagnosed with pneumonia and discovered that she had been living for years with pulmonary fibrosis. Linda went to be with her heavenly father on April 19, 2021, leaving behind her husband Vic Willms, three children, Denise (John) Point, Roxanne (Stephen) Zeiler, and Rocky Joe.
She is also survived by eight brothers and sisters and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Linda's passing will leave a great chasm in the lives of her family and friends. Thank you to all the excellent, and overworked staff at Chilliwack General Hospital for the great care and concern they showed to Linda and her family.
Linda will make heaven a brighter place, but will be greatly missed by all the people she touched here on earth.
