Passed away at the Eden Care Center, Chilliwack, BC

Lillian will be remembered by her daughter, Brenda Creasey; son, Randy (Ann) Jonsson; grandsons: Wesley (Michelle), Cussack, Ron Thiessen, granddaughters Melinda (Trevor) McLean, Angela Hector, greatgrandsons: Joshua Thiessen, Kadin Cussack; great granddaughters: Amanda (Sean Schoenbaechler) Cusack, Emily Mclean, Candace Carscadden, Tara Lynn Perreault; brothers: Wally (Lydia) Burchert, Kenneth (Henrietta)  Burchert; sister, Barbara Stoltz; also many nieces and nephews and loving friends.

Mom was predeceased by her parents Rudolph (Pauline) Burchert; stepsisters, Edna (John) Telford, Else (Doug) Holloway, Violet (Matt) Saramaga, Lydia (Arthur) Green; sister Norma Lardner, her first husband Oke Jonsson; her second husband, Charles Wood and a son Brian Jonsson.

As a teenager’s mom and girlfriend Margaret Campbell travelled to Peachland, BC to work in the Fruit Packing House.

There they met the Jonsson brothers and married them. Mom’s first child was Brenda, second was Brian, and baby of the family Randy.  She moved to Chilliwack 55years ago. As a mother she had her handsful, with Brian being a special needs child. Mom worked in the home as a dispatcher for Electrolux Vacuums and Brothers International. Later she worked nights during the summers at York Farms, Fraser Vale, and the Corn Plant.

After Brian’s passing mom went to work at the Officers Mess at Canadian Forces Base, Chilliwack, where she met Charlie.

They started Charles Wood Catering (the old Municipal Hall on Alexander Ave). After selling, they went to work for Boatel at Coqualeetza until the big fire. They worked the barges feeding the loggers off the coastal waters. Mom worked at Pink Mountain Lodge while Charlie worked in a camp on the Alaska Highway.

During the summers they would work at the Army Cadets at Camp Vernon, BC. Lived for 30 plus years on Westview Ave., one year at Crystal Ridge Assisted living, and the past 10 months at Eden Care Center. The last year was a severe struggle with osteoarthritis.

A visitation will be held on Friday August 15, 2008, 7:00 - 9:00 pm from Henderson’s Funeral Home, 45901 Victoria Ave. Chilliwack, BC. Memorial Services will be held from the Chilliwack Alliance Church on Young Road, Saturday August 16 at 2:00 pm.  Cremation.

Burial will be held at a later date from Vedder View Gardens. Honorary Bearers will be Wally and Kenneth Burchert, Wesley ad Kadin Cussack, Ronald and Joshua Thiessen, Randy Jonsson, and Hartley Gies.

If friends so desire, donations may be made in Lillian’s name to the charities of your choice.
