Leonard Procter passed away at his home in Chilliwack on February 20, 2005 at the age of 86 years. He was born in Leeds, England on September 7, 1918.
Leonard is predeceased by his loving wife Winona in October of 1998.
Len enlisted in the British Army in 1939 serving in North Africa, Italy, Greece and Germany. He retired with the rank of Major in 1947. He arrived in Canada in October 1947 and re-enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces in 1951. He was promoted to Captain and served in Canada and Germany until 1964. Following his military career he was employed at the University of British Columbia and then the University of Calgary as Administrator of Student Housing. Upon his retirement in 1994 he and Winona returned to Chilliwack and resided in the Sardis area.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, Feb. 28, 2005 at 1 pm from the Chapel of Henderson’s Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Ireland officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Salvation Army in Chilliwack.
