Leonard Norum passed away on Thursday, September 5 at Chilliwack Hospital at the age of 89 years. He was born May 10, 1924 at Lac Vert, SK. Leonard and Lilian farmed in Saskatchewan and in 1952 they moved to BC. Leonard worked at lumber mills in Chilliwack and then farmed on Fairfield Island. After retiring, Leonard and Lilian moved to town where Leonard enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family. Leonard and Lilian celebrated their 67th anniversary in July with all of their children and grandchildren attending. Leonard will be sadly missed by his wife Lilian; son Carl (Doreen) of Armstrong BC, 3 daughters, Alma (Ed) Burkard of Hope BC, Fern (Kim) MacPherson of Chilliwack and Faye of Chilliwack; grandchildren, Carl's children - Clara Hooper (Greg) their sons Ben and Grant Hooper of Chilliwack, Raymond, Roy and Russell Norum all of Armstrong; Alma's children - Eric Burkard of Chilliwack, Jason, Christine and Philip all of Hope; Fern's children - Lila (Scott) of Maple Ridge and Laura of Chilliwack; 1 brother Melvin in Porcupine Plain SK, 2 sisters Erma Craig of Yorkton SK and Marlene (Bill) Benz of Naicam SK; and brother-in-law Bert (Beverly) Roberts of Regina SK. He was predeceased by his parents, sisters Leona, Beatrice and Thelma, brothers-in-law Boyden Smith, Lloyd Craig, Bob Roberts and sister-in-law Jean Norum. There will be no service by request.
