Oct. 5, 1943 - Dec. 27, 2012

Larry passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus with his wife Doreen at his side. After a long battle with cancer, he leaves behind his loving wife Doreen of 40 years, children Angela (Peter) and Christopher (Tara), and the great joys of his life, his six grandchildren Iain, Spencer, Charlie, Maddison, Logan, and Keira, as well as many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Larry was predeceased by his parents George and Mary Wiebe and his sister Francis.

Born in Trail, BC and having grown up in Chilliwack, BC, Larry graduated from the University of BC with a BSc. in Physics. He lived most of his life in Abbotsford, where he raised his family and then retired from Simon Fraser University in 2007 as a Senior Lecturer after 22 years of service. Larry was also very active with the Royal Canadian Army Cadets (CIC) for 10 years in the 1990s in Aldergrove.

Larry will be greatly missed y family and friends. His desire was to always “speak the truth in love” and was passionate about his love for God, sharing every time he had the opportunity, whether in the pool hall or at work.

Special thanks to the ARHCC Oncology Ward and Palliative Care Ward, and especially to the Christine Morrison Hospice in Mission for their loving care of him.

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted by Valley Christian Ministries Church, which he attended. The service will be held at Peace Lutheran Church, 2029 Ware Road, Abbotsford, BC on Saturday, January 19, 2012 at 1pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Christine Morrison Hospice Society or to the BC Cancer Foundation.
