January 16, 1952 - July 25, 2024

It is with extreme sadness that I announce the passing that Larry Dyck, beloved father, friend, uncle, and grandfather passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 25 after a short but fiercely brave battle with cancer. He will always be remembered as a loving, proud father and grandfather that was sometimes stubborn but always generous, eager to lend a helping hand and one who cherished his friends and family with a passion for life.

My father was one of eight children born and raised in Chilliwack British Columbia to Mary and Frank Dyck. After graduating from Chilliwack Senior Secondary School in 1970, my father began his working career with Butler Brothers case tractors, Chilliwack Sash and Doors, and Westline Vinyl Siding Company in the late 1970's. With the work experience in hand Larry and brother Gary went on to establish their own successful siding sales and installation business in 1982 under the name of Western Vinyl & Aluminum until his retirement in 2020.

Dad loved to go fishing, camping, trips all over the Pacific Northwest on his motorcycle and playing cribbage with family and friends. He also enjoyed taking trips abroad such as Costa Rica, Cuba, and Belize to feed his interest in other cultures, Disneyland with his daughter, grandson and special friends, or even to just go south the Palm Springs for a few weeks during the winter. Getting close to retirement and then during, you could often find him playing weekly rounds of golf at Meadowlands or having a cold beer with friends and family.

Larry is predeceased by his parents Mary and Frank Dyck, sister Carol Dunsire, brother Gary Dyck, stepson Ryan Mauch, brother-in-law Frank Bruys and great niece Hannah. Larry's legacy is carried forward by his daughter Carla Dyck (Paul Kullar) and grandson Shae Khan. He is also survived by his brothers John Dyck (Jackie), Ed Dyck (Lynda), David Dyck (Debbie), Rudy Dyck (Shelley), sister Elsie Bruys, sister-in-law Elaine Dyck and many other nieces and nephews.

A "Celebration of Life" will be held 2:00 PM September 7, 2024 at the Chilliwack Curling Club.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor my father's memory may do so through a donation to the BC Children's Hospital which he generously supported each year or to the BC Cancer Foundation.
