Kyle John Dale GIBSON

February 27, 2004

It saddens us deeply to announce the sudden, accidental death of Kyle John Dale Gibson in Cultus Lake, B.C., on February 27, 2004.

Kyle was born May 31, 1979 in Chilliwack, and lived there most of his life. He attended Strathcona, Chilliwack Junior, Chilliwack Senior, and Sardis Senior schools.

In his early years, he very much enjoyed sports, playing on many soccer and baseball teams. He (and his family) travelled the Lower Mainland to find various soccer pitches and ball diamonds. He camped and travelled extensively with his family. Later he moved to Cultus Lake, where he worked and appreciated this small community. He very much enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Kyle was a people person. In his many jobs, there were always people around - as clients, customers or colleagues. He used his considerable personal skills and wit to be involved with these people. Kyle had a contagious sense of humour, took pleasure in little things and lived for the moment. He understood the meaning of Carpe Diem. As well, he took pleasure in children. He enjoyed being an uncle for Rachael and had great fun with his friends’ young children.

Kyle will be greatly missed by his family, his mother Janet Gibson; his brothers, Mark Gibson (Tonnyih Sinclaire and their daughter Rachael), Scott Gibson, and Shaun Gibson; his aunt Sheryl Henderson (Gary Baker); his uncle Dale (Lois) Henderson; his uncle Bill (Judy) Gibson; his aunt Moyra Gibson; and numerous cousins and friends.

Kyle was predeceased by his father John L. (Jack) Gibson; his maternal grandparents, Jean and Bob Henderson; and his paternal grandparents, Nellie and Foster Gibson.

A memorial service will be held Friday, Mar. 5, 2004 at 1 p.m. at Henderson’s Funeral Home, Chilliwack. Doug Ireland will be officiating.

Kyle was a Canucks fan. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Canucks Place, visit www.canuckplace.org or mail to Canuck Place Children’s Hospice - Tributes, 1690 Matthews Ave., Vancouver, B.C. V6J 2T2.
