Kristian Harry JAKOBSEN

Passed away peacefully at the Chilliwack General Hospital and went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 19, 2003 at the age of 84 years.

Funeral services for Harry Jakobsen will be held at 1:30 PM on Tuesday, February 25, 2003 at the First Avenue Christian Assembly Chapel with Pastor Elmer Martin officiating. Burial will take place at the Chilliwack Cemeteries on Little Mountain and a reception will follow from the First Avenue Christian Assembly Hall.

Harry will be sadly missed by his loving family, including wife of 58 years Grethe, his three daughters; Lena Jakobsen of Chilliwack, Andrea (Mark) Seymour of Surrey, and Mary-Ann (Ian) Robertson of England. Grandchildren; Penny Louise, and Justin Robertson and Mark, Stewart, Jonathan and Sheldon Seymour.

He is also survived by his siblings; Aage (Gudrun) Jacobsen of Surrey, Aksel (Lilly) Jakobsen, Jens Jakobsen, Poul Jakobsen, Ester Lund Jensen, Anna (Harold) Larsen, Lisabeth (Jorgen) Lassen, Alfred (Lillian) Beck Pedersen, Betty (Eric) Vongbjerg who all reside in Denmark as well as his cousin Ruth Hedekar of Prince George. And many nieces & nephews in Denmark.

Harry was predeceased by his grandfather Jens Lauritz Jakobsen, mother Johanna Larsen, father Jakob Emil Jakobsen and sisters Bodil Kammersgaard and Marie Andersen. And his sister in law-Gerda Jakobsen.

Harry was a building contractor for 30 years. He was an avid fisherman and reader who loved being with his family and telling stories. He possessed a deep love of The Lord and great passion for the gospel and evangelism and missions.

Donations in Harry’s memory would be gratefully accepted to the Canadian Bible Society, The Gideons International Canada or The Canadian Cancer Society.
