Ken passed away peacefully with his wife of 58 years, Margaret, by his side, at Chilliwack General Hospital on April 28, 2004. Ken was born on May 7, 1914 in Gull Lake, Sask.

He served overseas for 4 years during WWII as a Gunner in the Second Anit-tank Division, B. Troop. Ken and Marg married in 1946 and six years later moved to Sardis, B.C. Ken loved fishing, camping and travelling in the motorhome. He could always be found puttering in a woodworking shop, or near a pool table, playing snooker or billards.

Left to mourn his passing are his three granddaughters, Amber (Jeff) Holliday; Stacy Nelmes, and Tanya (Gordon) Maahs. Papa Ken will be missed by his great-grandchildren: Clayton and Jelisse Holliday and Lincoln Maahs.

Ken is survived by his sister Velma (Jim) Busse of Gull Lake, Sask. and by numerous sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and many friends.

He was predeceased by infant daughter, Shirley; 6 brothers, Clyde, Harold, Charlie, Vaughn, Carl and Jack, and 1 sister, Genevieve.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Henderson’s Tea Room on Friday, May 7, 2004 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.

Should family and friends so desire, donations in his memory may be made to a charity of choice.
