Born February 22nd, 1934 in Chilliwack, Bruce passed away February 27th, 2010 at Eden Rest Care Home.

Bruce grew up in Chilliwack but moved to Ryder Lake when he was 14 years old. He told stories of being able to view the 1948 Flood from the mountainside. He married and moved to Victoria, then Surrey, eventually moving back to Chilliwack with his young family.

In his forties he moved to Whitehorse where he loved spending time enjoying the great outdoors. From there he moved to Regina, then Calgary before returning home to live in his favourite place Ryder Lake, where he continued to live until his health problems caused him to move off his beloved mountain.

One of his first loves was flying. He was in the Air Cadets when he was younger and held a pilot’s licence for many years. When he was able to, Bruce loved taking photos, hunting and traveling.

Bruce was predeceased by his parents Gordon and Gladys McAlpine. He is survived by his children; Ian (Lise), Sandra (Edward) Crooks of Chilliwack and Ross (Shelly) of Calgary, his grandchildren are Colin, Denise, Jason, Jennifer, and Aaron.
