Dad has decided to take the long vacation with mom. Dad passed away the evening of October 19, 2012 at Chilliwack General Hospital. Born in England June 26, 1920 to Vic and Polly Lawn, he came to Canada in 1930 settling in Vancouver. He enjoyed a great athletic career including professional basketball with the Vancouver Hornets. He married Katherine Petrie in 1953. He worked for the BC Liquor Board for 30 years eventually transferring to Sardis in1974 with the family. Dad had a rich and fulfilling life, traveling to Palm Springs with his family, burning up the golf course and emptying his wallet at the horse races. His only regret was that mom couldn’t have shared more time with him having passed away far too early. Left to continue on, are his sons Doug (Patti), Bryan, Marty (Heather), grandsons Stephen and Michael, granddaughters Hayley and Kaya. He will be forever missed. Special thanks to all the staff on NU5 at the Chilliwack Hospital. A memorial service will be held at Carman United Church 7258 Vedder Rd, Sardis at 2:30 pm on Thursday, November 1, 2012.
