Kay’s spirit obediently responded to the Lord’s call and went to be with her Saviour on January 20, 2013 at Cascade Hospice, at the age of 91 years. Kay was born in the Ukraine on March 13, 1921 to her parents Jacob P and Katharina Dyck.

She grew up in Gilory, Sask, where she attended school and helped with the farm work. After finishing grade 10 she attended Herbert Bible School for two terms. She married John Schellenberg on April 20, 1941 and in November 1941 they moved to Yarrow BC where they made their home and in 1976 they moved to Chilliwack.

She was predeceased by her parents, four brothers, two sisters-in-laws and two brothers-in-law. Kay will be lovingly remembered by her husband, John of 71 years, her daughter Vi (Bill) Dyble, two grandchildren Arlene (Al) Warris, Wayne (Geraldine) Dyble and five great-grandchildren; Larissa and Jessica Dyble, Shelby, Riley and Zachery Warris. Her sisters Helen Thiessen and Anne Reimer; brothers John (Chris), Henry (Lorraine), Bernie and brother-in-law Glen Stevenson and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.

A memorial service will be held at Broadway Mennonite Brethen Church on January 26, 2013 at 2:00 pm, in lieu of flowers a donation to the Alzheimer Society.
