Kathleen Alison FOSTER

November 1, 2002

Kathleen Alison Foster passed away at the Chilliwack General Hospital on November 1, 2002 at the age of 82 years. Late of Chilliwack.

Mom arrived in Canada in 1946 with two small children. Soon after settling in our home at Ryder Lake, Mom and Dad raised our family of five. It didn’t take long for her to get involved in community activities, spending many hours with West End Sewing Circle, Ryder Lake PTA, Sardis PTA, Ryder Lake Women’s Institute, Soroptimist International, and Chilliwack Museum and Historical Society. Mom travelled extensively in her business as owner/operator of Kathleen Tours Ltd., making many friends around the world. After moving to Chilliwack, Mom continued her travels as well as pursuing her passion for gardening.

Survived by her loving family, one sister Margaret Scott of Exeter, England; daughter Helen De Jean of Chilliwack; son William (Suzanne) Murdock of Ottawa, Ont.; son Michael (Deborah) Murdock of Abbotsford; daughter Janet (Kerry) Butler of Salt Spring Island; daughter Fiona Foster of Salt Spring Island; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three step-children; and numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband Gordon in 1981; and her son-in-law John De Jean in 1997.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2002 at 2 p.m. from St. John’s Anglican Church, Sardis. Father Fred Tassinari officiating. Cremation.

Should family and friends so desire, donations in her memory may be made to the Queen Alexandra Foundation for Children, 2400 Arbutus Rd., Victoria, B.C. V8N 1V7, or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of B.C.

We all love and miss you Mom. Love Helen, Bill, Mike, Janet, and Fiona.
