Katherine Emelia Magdelina Miller (nee Achtzener) of Chilliwack, BC, passed peacefully into the care of our Lord on May 12, 2008, at the age of 59 years with her husband, children, and family at her side.
She was born April 26, 1949, in Regina, SK, to Philip and Katherine (Wendling) Achtzener.
Kathy was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church, where she was later married to Donald Gordon Miller on December 5, 1970.
Kathy walked through life instilling confidence and self worth in the ones she loved. From the moment you met her, you were immediately welcomed and accepted into her life. Everyone who encountered Kathy benefited from her encouragement, strength, and warmth.
Kathy was predeceased by her parents, brother Edward, sister Jeanette, and leaves to celebrate her life and spirit: husband Don; daughters; Penny (Steve), Niki, and Jacqui (Mike); daughter-in-heart Amber (Ken); grandchildren: Jewel Miller, Kenna Horwell, and Jack Bowman; brothers: Philip, Norman (Sheila), and David; sisters Phyllis (Terry), Marie (Wally), Trudy (Alick); sisters-in-law: Cheryl and Lorna (Mike); and countless nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
The family gratefully acknowledges the work done by Doctors Allister Richmond and Melanie Madill, the Palliative Care Unit of the Fraser Health District especially Sandy, and all related staff who went out of their way to support our family.
The funeral service will be held at Woodlawn Mt Cheam Funeral Home, 45865 Hocking Ave, on Friday, May 16, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. with reception to follow.
