Karl “Willi” Ahlbrand passed away on October 9, 2006 at Chilliwack General Hospital at age 75 years. He was born May 18, 1931 in Babenhausen, Germany.
Willi is survived by his wife of 47 years, Helga, of Chilliwack; sons, Alan (Cathie) and granddaughter, Xandria of Southbank, BC and Roger (Maggie) and newly arrived grandson, William James Bell, of Toronto; sister, Gertrud and niece Jutta of Germany.
His parents in Germany predeceased him.
Dad was an extremely caring and devoted husband, father and grandfather to his only grandchild Xandria. He loved his visits north to visit his family as well as his trips to Toronto to see Roger and Maggie.
At the time of his death, he was excitedly awaiting the arrival of his second grandchild and he was proud beyond words of the new arrival.
Willi was also an active and very devoted member of the Masonic Lodge and the Shrine Club. He volunteered his time with many clubs and organizations.
He will be greatly missed by those who had the privilege to work with him.
A Celebration of Life will be held in April of 2007.
