Late of Chilliwack, formerly of Mönchengladbach, Germany passed away May 19, 2004 in Chilliwack at the age of 82 years.
Karl was born on July 17, 1921 in Giesenkirchen, in the Rhineland, Germany and was the son of Gertrud and Dr. Nikolaus Giesen.
After serving in WWII, Karl studied law, and married Theresia Fütterer in 1956. Their children Roman and Marie Antoinette were born, and in 1980, after his retirement, Karl and his family emigrated to Chilliwack. He was a scholar all his life, but his main interests were his family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, May 26, 2004 at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church with Father Gary Gordon the Celebrant.
Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Cemetery.
Karl is survived by his loving wife Resi, son Roman; grandson Leif; daughter Marie Antoinette and son-in-law Frank.
He was predeceased by his mother Gertrud and father Nikolaus.
