June Frances Peter (nee Long). June was born August 12, 1921 in Vancouver, BC and passed away on February 2, 2014 in Chilliwack, BC. She was predeceased by her husband Dick Peter, her parents Anne and George Long, brother William Long and sister Dorothy Brown. She is survived by her brother Arthur Long.

During World War II June proudly served in the Dental Corps of the Canadian Women's Army achieving the rank of Sergeant. In her civilian career she did confidential secretarial work for a variety of employers. June and her husband Dick owned and operated Dick Peter's Auto Sales in Chilliwack. June was a long time member of the Royal Canadian Legion, a life member of Soroptomist International of Chilliwack and a dedicated member of Cooke's Presbyterian Church. She was a generous supporter of a number of charitable causes. June loved dogs, especially her Jack Russell terrier Jake and her beagle Sasha. Thank-you for the support and care given to June by Dr. Fitzpatrick and the caring staff at Chilliwack General Hospital and Heritage Village. A Celebration of June's life will take place at Cooke's Presbyterian Church, 45825 Wellington Ave, Chilliwack at 2:00pm on Tuesday, February 11, 2014.
