MacGregor; Juanita Colleen

nee: Cooper, Gibson

Best known as Colleen

July 6, 1927 - June 6, 2014

Colleen MacGregor of Chilliwack, BC, passed away suddenly in Abbotsford. She was born in Merritt, BC. Colleen was the oldest of two children born to Stephen D. Cooper and Beulah Allen. She was predeceased by her sisters, Betty Hiebert in 2002, and Winnifred Firkus in 2011. Colleen will be remembered as a gracious, kind and caring lady. She grew up in Burnaby and went to Burnaby South High School. Her grandparents Sam and Emma Allen used to own the florist shop across from Ocean View Cemetery. Her mother Beulah McLaughlin had a florist shop on Nelson Avenue. In her younger years Colleen worked for Hammond Furniture, Lamplighter Pub and Red Barn Pub. Colleen hated to stay at home during the winter months and loved motorhoming so she and Leo spent over 30 years traveling around Mexico, United States and across Canada. She will be dearly missed by her husband Leo, brother Stephen Cooper; son Brian Gibson (Cathy); daughter Charleen Kirkby (Lynden); stepson Andy MacGregor (Laurence) and step-daughter Wendy Rykiss; 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and all her many friends and family. Respecting her wishes of no service, the family will have a private gathering.
