It is with deepest sadness that we announce the passing of Joyce (Jo) Carlson at home on Friday July 22, 2022 at the age of 90 years.
Joyce was predeceased by her husband Harry who passed away August 27, 2016. Joyce's passions were her family, animal companions and her gardens. She was also involved in The Humane Society in Kenora, Ontario and Chilliwack, B.C., heading The Humane Society in both communities for a period of time.
Joyce also taught dog obedience classes in Kenora and Chilliwack and was active in the Agricultural Society of Kenora. Both Joyce and Harry spent approximately ten years as volunteers at Chilliwack's Parkholm Lodge. Joyce and Harry will eventually be taken home to Kenora. Joyce's last words to Harry
before he died were to"walk slowly as I will be right behind you". It has taken longer than she had anticipated, but it is comforting to think that they are tripping the light fandango off towards the Milky Way. They are both sorely miss by all of us left behind.
