March 23, 1936 - February 26, 2020
With sadness, we announce Joe Feriancek passed away suddenly on February 26, 2020, at the age of 83 years. Born March 23, 1936 in Glaslyn, Saskatchewan, Joe grew up one of five kids to two immigrant parents, and he fostered a life-long love of the great outdoors. In 1956, Joe joined the 2nd Royal Canadian Horse Artillery Regiment. Joe met his wife Thelma in Invermere B.C., and they spent 60 years adventuring together.
Their young working lives were on the move; Winnipeg, Germany, New Brunswick, British Columbia, Nova Scotia, and British Columbia again. Along the way, three boys; Shane, Mark and Bruce. After 20 years of service, Joe retired and they settled on beautiful Chilliwack Lake Road.
Joe was deeply involved in his community, volunteering with Fraser Valley Home Support, Citizens on Patrol, and the Chilliwack River Valley Ratepayers Association. No matter who asked, Joe was always there to provide help and support. His generosity, laugh and zest for life will be missed by many, and especially by his family.
