December 10, 1938 - September 10, 2018
With deep sadness, the family of Rae Forest announces his passing away on September 10, 2018 at Chilliwack, BC. Joseph James Raymond Forest was born to Rene and Laurette (Frappier) Forest on December 10, 1938 at St Michel des Saints, Quebec.

After growing up in Montreal and Cornwall, Ontario, at the age of 18 Rae joined the RCAF and over 15 years served at radar sites in BC, Quebec, Manitoba, Alberta and Saskatchewan. During that time Rae was the pitcher for RCAF Beausejour in the local fastball bush league; and the local chess champion for several years. At RCAF Baldy Hughes Rae skipped his rink to victory almost every bonspiel, and each curling season - he was a true sportsman, making it easy for his team to relax and curl its best, and who believed in simply enjoying what he felt that in the end was "...just a game!"

In 1974 Rae moved to Chilliwack and commenced a long and very successful career in real estate, witnessing and taking a significant part in the last 40 years' extensive development of the Chilliwack area.

Rae was predeceased by his parents, his Uncle Armand Frappier with whom he had an enduring close relationship, and his siblings in childhood, Yvon and Andree. Forever loved and deeply missed, Rae is survived by his children Christine, James and John Forest, his grandson Luca Forest Fiore, and his sister Simone Forest in Quebec. He is also survived by his beloved cousins Lise, Francine and Francoise Frappier and many other relatives in Quebec; and by his children's mother Rene MacDonald.

If desired, a donation in his memory may be made to BC Diabetes, to the Royal Canadian Legion, or to a charity of your choice. A private family service will be held at a later date.
