Joseph Edward McIsaac

Joe McIsaac passed away peacefully on Oct. 21, 2005 at the age of 84. He was born in Moncton, New Brunswick and moved to Chilliwack with the Armed Forces after World War II. He met Viola Ling and they married in 1950. Vi passed away in 1993.

Joe helped with sports and boy scouts while his children were growing up. He retired from the Armed Forces in the 1970’s and worked at the Base Supply at CFB until his retirement in 1986 and was known to many local people. Joe was a WWII and Korean War veteran. He was also a member of the Vedder Legion.

Joe will be sadly missed by his children, Patsy (Larry) Will, Jim ( Andrea) McIsaac, Peter ( Barb ) McIsaac, and Judy McIsaac., his grandchildren Glenn Will, Kathy Will ( Shane Chief) , Shawn McIsaac, Laura McIsaac, Christopher McIsaac, and his great grandchildren, Chantal Chief and Aura Chief. He is survived by sisters, Helen ( Walter ) Bourque, and Corrine Penney, stepbrother Bob (Linda ) McIsaac and sister-in-law Georgie McIsaac along with many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Donald, sisters Rita, Mary, Evelyn, Verna, and his parents Anselme and Margaret.

Joe wanted no service, but would like to remind everyone, “ Don’t take any wooden nickels.” In lieu of flowers, donations in Joe’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
