Joseph was born in Philadelphia, PA., and came to live in Canada at eleven days old.
He is survived by his son Warren, his parents Gwynneth and David O'Brien, and his sister Claire (Elijah) Calhoun.
He is also mourned by his birth family - mother Chereen Lewis, father Walter (Ray) Robinson, grandmother Karmaya Lewis, sisters Tosia and Cheray, brother Jamel, and other relatives.
He enjoyed biking and playing his bass guitar.
