Jose Santos Sr. PABLO

June 25, 2004

On Aug. 23, 1923 in Caluluan, Concepcion, Tarlac, Philippines, Jose S. Pablo Sr. was born.

He was a man of many experiences and various talents. He joined the U.S. Armed Forces in the Philippines during World War II. Along with his uniform status, he was a boxer, made a career as an electrician, was a wonderful tennis player and a magnificent dancer, he travelled around to several towns with his friend for tango competitions. Not only was he physically fit in the dancing world, he pursued a hobby in designing and creating his own clothes from shirts, pants, vests and even jackets; he always perfected them to the last stitch.

Then a wonderful lady appeared into his life in 1947. It was Gertrudes Fernando Agustin, who was one of the beauty queens in Mayantoc. Then in 1949 they happily got married and led a wonderful life together.

Within this lifetime, Mrs. Pablo gave birth to five good-looking boys: Jose, Rolando, Priscillo, Abner and Virigilio, and one girl, Marilyn.

In 1982, the married couple moved to Canada and lived in a whole new environment. With their new life in Canada, their children gave birth to a large set of 10 wonderful grandchildren: five boys and five girls.

Jose then came down with pneumonia and passed away at 5:30 a.m. on June 25, 2004 at Peach Arch Hospital in White Rock at the age of 80 years old.
