September 22, 1961 - February 2, 2020
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear daughter and sister who left us far too soon. Predeceased by her father, Jesus, aka "Boots"; sister-in-law Tracey. Survived by her mother, Purita; her 5 brothers and 2 sisters; and many nieces & nephews. Joni is the eldest of 8 children.
Born and lived in the Philippines; immigrated with her family as a young teen to Canada; grew up in Chilliwack and graduated from CSSS. Soon after, Joni went to Langara College and graduated as an RN. She was a passionate RN, and loved caring for her patients. She loved travelling, the great outdoors, hiking, walking by the rivers, collecting rocks, & bike riding. She loved books, the Lord, and crafting - knitting, crocheting & beading. She loved music, and will fondly be remembered for her love of singing and playing the guitar at family gatherings. Joni, eventually took piano lessons. She loved shopping, coming home to her kitties, and hanging out with her friends and family - especially the cousins. Joni was close and loyal to her friends & family, and had a very generous & loving heart. We will sorely miss her. Forever Loved; Forever in our Hearts. Gone to be with her Lord & Saviour.
Viewing & Vigil: Fri, Feb 14 at 7:00 PM; Service & Tea: Sat, Feb 15 at 11:00 am at St. Mary's Church. 8909 Mary Street, Chilliwack, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a Cancer Agency of your choice.
