Any, John Whitehead
passed away on Monday, Oct. 14, 2002 at Chilliwack General Hospital, at age 82 years. John was born February 16, 1920 at Jersey Channel Islands, England. On July 27, 1946, he married Cissie Thompson of Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. They lived in Jersey until September 1952, when they moved to the Arnold district of Nottingham. In September of 1965 they moved to Canada. In 1985 after 20 winters in Saskatoon, Sask. it was decided to escape the cold and move to Chilliwack.
Cissie passed away in January of 1999, in her 91st year. Her ashes have been scattered in the Garden of Rest at Wilford Hill Cemetery in Nottingham. John’s remains will be sent to join her.
John is survived by his step-daughter, Esmé, and her husband Roy Girling of Chilliwack.
