John Teichgrab passed peacefully into the presence of his Savior, Jesus Christ on May 6, 2013 at Cascade Lodge, Chilliwack, three months shy of 90 years.

John was born in former USSR in 1923 and lived in Saskatchewan until 13 when the family moved to Yarrow, working in Haas Hop Yards. John was athletic from a young age and participated in community sports both as a player and referee well into his 60’s. John’s life revolved around his love for Jesus Christ, many church involvements and his family. He cherished and made many memories with them. John retired from BC Corrections and enjoyed travelling, gardening, fishing, golfing and sharing the love of Christ. We will dearly miss John and his contagious spirit, full of love and life.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Patricia of 41 years; sons, Phil (Betty), Jim, daughter-in-law Terry (Willie), Shirley (John), Kevin (Joanne) and Colleen (Dean); 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents, son Donald, three brothers and spouses and his sister Elsie.

Visitation will be held from 7 to 8 pm on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 45865 Hocking Ave, Chilliwack. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at City Life Church, 46641 Chilliwack Central Road, Chilliwack.
