SKIMMING ~ John Grant. Grant passed away peacefully on Monday, September 9, 2013 at Chilliwack Hospital at the age of 65. Grant was born in Winnipeg, MB on September 12, 1947. From an early age he loved camping and fishing with his family. At 17 years of age he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force. He served for 28 years. Among several of his postings he did a tour of duty in Egypt. Retiring from the military in 1992 he moved to Chilliwack with his family where he rekindled his passion for salmon fishing and collecting fishing gear. He loved road trips and enjoyed connecting with people of different walks of life and learning about their passions. Grant will be sadly missed by his wife Jocelyne of 38 years, daughter Jacqueline, grandchildren Caitlin and Tyler, sister Judy (Frank), sisters-in-law Lise (Claude), Lili, Francine (Guy), Estelle (Dominic), Claire (Clermond), brother-in-law Jacques (Lyne) and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Jonathan (1988), his parents Merle (1984) and Jack (1986). The family would like to thank the staff of the Vancouver and Chilliwack Hospitals.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:30 pm on Tuesday, September 17 at Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home, 45865 Hocking Ave, Chilliwack with Jim Gaetz officiating. Memorial donations may be made in Grant's name to the BC Heart & Stroke Foundation or The Kidney Foundation of Canada. Online condolences may be offered at www.woodlawn-mtcheam.ca.
