January 24, 1929 - June 13, 2018
It is with profound sadness and heartache we announce the passing of John Shellenberg, husband, father, grandfather, papa, uncle and friend. John was born January 24, 1929 in Dolinsk, Russia.

At the early age of 14 John left home and joined the Merchant Marines. He married the love of his life in 1950 and had four beautiful children. He started and ran his own successful logging company for many years, he even flew his own float planes into camp. He was a quiet man who had many loves but most of all he loved the kids and all the grandchildren and held them close to his heart. He loved his family as much as any man could, he was everyone's uncle John.

He is survived by his wife Judy, married 68 years, daughters Lorraine Kuester (Henry), Sandra Dickson (Dave) and son Dan Shellenberg, grandchildren, Becky (Francis), Janice (Kelly), Martin (Jaimie), Gordon (Andrea), Andrew (Megan), Jason, great grandchildren Anisa (Tanner), Kirsten (Cole), Cole, Jayden, Kayla , Gabe, Paige, Ben, Judah, Nash, Sloan, Wren, Layn , Wells and great great grandson Luca, and many nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his daughter Linda and great granddaughter Steffany.

A celebration of Life will be held at the Tzeachten Hall, 45855 Promontory Rd, Chilliwack ,BC on June 24th, 2018 from 12-4.

In lieu of flowers please send donations to Children's Hospital in his name, a place near and dear to his family.
