John Lloyd Rodgers passed away quietly on Wednesday, February 9, 2005 at home in Sardis, B.C, at age 84 years. He was born August 31, 1920 in New Westminster, B.C.
John’s greatest love was his family, Janet his wife of 52 years; son, Brock (Rosa) and daughter, Claudia (Sandy) Muir; grandchildren, Ian, Maria (Tony) Samantha and Katie. He was predeceased by his parents Lloyd and Henrietta Rodgers.
John was a past Master at Mt. Zion Lodge and a member of Gizeh Shrine Temple. He served overseas in the RCAF as a photographer and later made that his occupation, running a successful photographic studio in Chilliwack. His hobby was woodwork and his family will cherish the wonderful furniture he made for them over the years. John and Janet loved to spend their summers at Pavilion Lake where they have a cabin. Many hours were spent fishing, gardening and fixing the dock.
A Celebration of John’s life will be held at #33- 7001 Eden Dr., Chilliwack at 1:30 pm Tuesday, February 15, 2005. If friends and family so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children, the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of your choice.
