John (Jack) Ketchen

It is with a saddened heart that we bid a final goodbye to John (Jack) Ketchen, twin brother to Connie Cox who was always by his side. John traveled on his final journey on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at the age of 77. All across British Columbia, he has left to mourn the many whose hearts he touched with his wit, humour, kindness and generosity. Our loving thoughts and blessings go out to the rest of his family: His son, Stephen Cashmore in Vancouver; his other sister, Beverly (Lorne) Russell in Lethbridge and his two nieces; and the Earl Family in Langley, who were privileged to have been made a part of his family and will fondly remember him as Grandpa Jack. Wherever John lived, from the Island, to New Westminster, to Langley and finally Chilliwack, he was quick to make friends and make people laugh. No harsh words were ever heard to pass his lips and his friendly nature lifted everyone’s spirits. He will be missed, but his spirit will endure in our hearts, as a positive soul that will forever shine brightly like the stars in the sky. At John’s request, there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, please follow John’s lead and be compassionate and charitable to everyone around you.
