It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ken Thom on July 3, 2008 in Burnaby, BC.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife Frances of 67 years; children: Ken (Connie) of New York and Mary Ann (Jim) Lane of Coquitlam; grandchildren: Kenneth (Kirsten), Meredith (Barry), Heather (Steve) and Michael of New York and New Jersey; Chris, Laura (Russell), Michael (Laura), Matthew (Marisa) and Suzanne of Vancouver and Calgary; great-grandchildren: Alexandria, Joseph, Jayden, Katelyn, James and Lauren as well as extended family and friends.

Ken was predeceased by parents John and Laura Cath–erine (Kate) Thom; sister, Ethel and brothers George and John.

Ken was born near Leth–bridge, Alberta and farmed there for many years. He was a graduate of Olds School of Agriculture, served as President of the Alberta Milk Producers Association and was a director for the Dairy Farmers of Canada.

In 1962 he and his family moved to Abbotsford and then to Chilliwack where he worked for Buckerfields Ltd. He and his wife, Fran, resided in Chilliwack for over 40 years and then moved to Burnaby in 2004.

He was very devoted to his family, church and community. He volunteered with many community organizations and was a member of the Knights of Columbus for 74 years.

Ken was very outgoing, generous and kind and he had a wonderful sense of humor. He will be missed by many.

The funeral mass will be said on Thursday July 10, 2008 at 10:30 am at St. Michaels Church, 9387 Holmes St. Burnaby, B.C.

Prayers will be held on Wednesday, July 9 at 7 pm at St. Michaels Church.
