Feb. 9, 1928 – Nov. 18, 2010
The Clayton family is saddened to announce the passing of our beloved husband and father after a long and valiant struggle with Parkinson’s disease.
He was surrounded by his family as he peacefully passed away. His wife Jean of 53 years will miss him deeply, as will his three children Caryn (Kohlruss), Mark, Lara, and his son-in-law Greg.
Jack was an amazing husband and father who touched the lives of many others, whether it be through his business endeavors or his involvement with Rotary International, as well as other community services. Prior to the family’s arrival in BC in 1975, Jack was corporate executive for Bendix Modular Homes and RV division in Canada, US and Europe. He was the founder and president of Manco Home Systems in Agassiz, BC and served on the Chilliwack Hospital Board and on the Board of Directors of the BCAA. Jack was also proudly the founder of the Agassiz/Harrison chapter of Rotary International.
The family would like to thank Dr. Howard Bright, his family doctor of more than 20 years, for the kindness and dedication he showed to Jack. We would also like to thank the entire staff of the Waverly Care Home for the tireless compassion and loving care they demonstrated for the six years he was a resident there.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday November 26, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. at the Chilliwack United Church, 45835 Spadina Avenue, Chilliwack BC. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Parkinson’s Society of BC.
