Alex passed away quietly at the Chilliwack Hospital after a short illness.
He was predeceased by his parents Margaret (1976), and Alexander (1989); also his second wife, Alma (1996), and brother Geroge (2002).
He is survived by Verna Graham, mother of his children: Deirdre (Don) Frazer, and Bruce (Maria) Graham, and his four grandchildren.
Alex was born in Manitoba and moved at age one to the West Coast where he has been ever since. He graduated from UBC in 1947 with a BA in Economics.
He later achieved his CFA certificate and teaching certificate.
Alex worked in a number of careers but never lost his love for the outdoors. In later years he was self-employed working in the forest industry. His passion extended to gardening which he pursued until the end. Alex spent most of his adult life in the Chilliwack area.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2008 at 10:30 am at Carmen United Church, on Vedder Road.
A reception will follow in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the cancer society or a charity of your choosing.
