February 23, 1924 - February 9, 2019
Born Purmerend, Netherlands Feb. 23, 1924. Died Chilliwack, BC Feb. 9, 2019 just shy of her 95th birthday.

Johanna is survived by her sons Lawrence and Nico (Sue) and her daughters Afra (Bud), Annamieke (Milton), Lorette (Roland) and Dorothy.

She was Oma to 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Johanna was like a mother to her two foster girls, Betty and Verna and will be missed by their families. Johanna leaves three brothers in the Netherlands, Wim Jonk, Bert Jonk, and Adrie Jonk and numerous nieces and nephews in Holland and Canada.

She is predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Nick, and her granddaughter Bonnie.

In 1948 Johanna and Nick married in Holland. They immigrated to Canada with their young and growing family in 1954. After several moves, in 1960, they purchased a hobby farm on Prairie Central Road where she remained for the rest of her life.

Johanna was proud of her garden and her chickens and was quite the entrepreneur with her egg sales.

As the family grew up and scattered, Johanna (Oma) loved to travel and visit her kids and grandkids. She was always up for an adventure.
