It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joan Wearing. Joan passed away into the presence of the Lord on Monday, Sept. 13, 2004.
Joan was born in England on October 20, 1919 and married Tom Wearing on October 24, 1941. Joan and Tom immigrated to Canada in 1952 along with three of their children, and lived in Comox Valley where their fourth child was born. In 1971, they moved to the Chilliwack area where they resided in Greendale for many years.
Active through the Greendale MB Church, Joan was greatly admired for her volunteer work in the extended care ward of the Chilliwack Hospital. Through the years, Joan’s positive nature and contagious smile were an inspiration to all the many lives she touched.
In the last few years, Joan has resided at both Parkholm Lodge and Heritage Village.
Joan was predeceased by her husband Tom in November of 2003.
She is survived by her four children: Sandra (Ted) Munn, Barry, Dave (Jill), Bill (Brenda) and three grandchildren, Jason Munn, Melissa (Mike) Greenway and Jonathan Wearing.
Special thank-you to Dr. M. Esmail, the caring staff at both Parkholm and Heritage Village (Manning Floor) for their wonderful care, kindness and support shown to Joan over the years.
Joan was a devoted and loving Wife, Mother and Grandmother and is greatly missed.
The family will hold a private service.
