With heavy hearts and great sorrow we announce the passing of both Jim and Lauretta Lumsden, of Chilliwack, BC. They passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on August 9, 2019 on the Coquihalla Highway near Hope, BC in a single motor vehicle accident and perished instantly. They were returning home from a fishing trip with dear friends. Jim Lumsden 76 years, and Lauretta 75 years, are both lovingly remembered by their children Craig (Trisha), and Travis (Michelle); grandchildren, Tao and Kazi Lumsden. Jim, a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and friend is survived by his brother Dave Lumsden and predeceased by his parents, James and Agnes Lumsden, and his sisters Rae and Nancy. Lauretta, a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend is survived by her sisters Arelene and Sandra; and predeceased by her parents Karl and Lorraine Teschke; brothers Kenny and Daryl.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at 3 pm (doors open at 2 pm) at the Landing Sports Centre, 45530 Spadina Avenue, Chilliwack, BC.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Lauretta and Jim's great nephew Sheldon Williams GoFundMe page, under his father's name Jess Williams, for prosthesis due to a recent ATV accident or to any charity of choice.
