(1947 - 2011)

It is with a great deal of sadness that we have to tell of Jim’s passing on October 16, 2011 due to complications from surgery for lung cancer.

Jim will be dearly missed by his wife, Catherine, his sons, Martin (Jill), Darren, Kevin (Sue), Keith (Julie); grandchildren, Ciaran, Sophie, Nora, Holly, many good friends and family members and our poodles, Rosie and Jewel.

Jim was born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan and gradually made his way west to the Fraser Valley after a couple of stops in Alberta.

Jim had a wicked sense of humour and enjoyed people – chatting to anyone and everyone on the street as he worked in his yard. He was a very kind and generous man – giving of himself and his time.

When Jim retired in March of this year, he was looking forward to pursuing his passions – spending time with family and friends, cooking, gardening, photography, woodworking and travelling. Sadly, God decided that it was time for Jim to come home to him; we will miss him terribly but take comfort in knowing that he is no longer suffering or in pain. Jim, we love you. We will always remember you and, therefore, you will always be with us.

A celebration of Life service will be held at Broadway Church, 46611 Maple Ave., Chilliwack on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at 1:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice would make Jim happy.
