April 29, 1937 - December 25, 2020
It is with profound sadness we announceour precious Mom, Janice E. Moen, departed her loving family on Christmas Day 2020, forever to be our Christmas Angel.
Born April 29, 1937 in St. Boniface, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Mom passed away peacefully at Cascade Lodge in Chilliwack, B.C.
Predeceased by her parents Trudy and Stan Atkinson, her husband Lyle Moen, sister Bev Stuart, brother Stan Atkinson and her much-loved grandson Christopher Kelly, Janice leaves to mourn, her children Michael Kelly (Catherine), Deb O'Flaherty (Reid), Theresa Kelly, Dana Kelly, Leanne Kerr (Richard), her grandchildren Aaron Kelly, Alexandra Rodrigues (James), Thomas Sorensen, Ryan Moen (Caroline), Nadine Garcia (Brendan), Riley Coradazzo (Brittany), Trevor Findlay, Derrick Findlay, Ryan Kerr (Taylor), Shawn Kerr and Kyle Kerr; great-grandchildren Mason, Hudson and Hayden Garcia, and Emilia Coradazzo; brothers Lorry Atkinson (Sharon) and Ron Atkinson (Cam); as well as many good friends and extended family.
Mom loved the outdoors; gardening, camping, fishing and travelling around in their motorhome. She was a true fan of hockey and could be heard 'a mile away', cheering on her Vancouver Canucks.
Mom had a cheeky sense of humour and loved to laugh to the point of tears. Although mom had various careers over the years, (Woodward's, Dragon Inn and many years at Lumberland), she would argue that her family was her greatest achievement.
Nothing was more important to her and she would always strive to give of herself for the betterment of her family. Mom loved her family. We were her world and she was Ours. Incredibly strong with a heart of golden kindness, she was a devoted friend to all. Mom blessed many with her love and will forever live in their/our hearts.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Dr.s Markey and Wolfe for their great care. Special thanks to Mom's favourite care aid (Cascades) who was her ray of sunshine and our source of peace during the many months when we could not visit Mom due to Covid limitations.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
