RODGERS; Janet. (McLennan). Born June 30, 1923 passed away Oct. 12, 2013. It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Janet Rodgers. Mom was born in Trail, BC to Roderick (Rory) and Harriet McLennan. Mom attended Nursing school in Montreal. After spending time in the Okanagan area doing public health she met and married John Rodgers in 1952. They settled in Nanaimo. Six weeks after the wedding mom became ill with Polio. After her recovery and rehabilitation she and Dad settled in Chilliwack and opened John Rodgers Photo Studio which they ran together for almost 30 years. After retiring Mom and Dad enjoyed their time at the cabin at Pavilion Lake and their retirement home in Sardis. They enjoyed trips to Scotland, Hawaii and the Maritimes and a few winters in Palm Desert. Mom loved to sew and knit and especially to bake cookies for the grand kids. After Dad passed away in 2005 Mom moved to Burnaby to be closer to family. In March she moved to White Rock. We were all so happy this past June to help her celebrate her 90th birthday surrounded by her extended family. Mom is predeceased by her two sisters Betty McLean and Catherine Rennison. She is survived by son Brock Rodgers (Rosa) and daughter Claudia Muir (Sandy). Her grandchildren Maria Dente (Tony) Ian Rodgers (Bec) Samantha Muir (Tyler) and Katie Muir.
