Mayer; Jane Adela. Jane passed away in Chiliwack, BC on December 13, 2013. Jane was born in Poland in 1924 to Michael and Marjanny Fryza and moved to Manitoba, Canada with her family when she was a child. The family farmed in the Monominto area outside of Winnipeg. Jane married Walter Mayer in 1943 and they had eight children together. They worked hard on their dairy farm in Anola, Manitoba for many years and moved to Chilliwack in 1977 when Walter retired. Walter passed away in 1980.
Jane is survived by her children, James, Frances, Gladys, Don, Mike, Patricia, Kathy and Robert; many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Jane had a zest for life, an engaging smile and a welcome embrace for everyone who came to her home. Jane loved gardening, cooking cabbage rolls and perogies, knitting mittens and blankets, roller skating and dancing in her younger years. She had unshakeable faith in the Bible's promise of a resurrection to life here on earth and she enjoyed sharing this hope with others. Special thanks to Dr. Gupta and the fabulous nursing staff in Chilliwack hospital for the compassionate care they gave to our mom, Jane. A memorial service to be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 45660 Watson Road, Chilliwack on Saturday December 28, 2013 at 1:00pm. A tea will follow at the Riding Club Hall on Spadina Avenue.
