Suddenly at Chilliwack on July 22, 2002 Jan De Valk Sr., aged 79 years, late of Chilliwack. Survived by his family, wife Rinske; three daughters, Mrs. Nelly (John) Paterson of Langley, Mrs. Henny (Lyle) Petford of Chilliwack, and Mrs. Rena Kells of Chilliwack; two sons, John (Mary) De Valk of Chilliwack, and Bart (Christine) De Valk of Chilliwack; 10 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter, Ione.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 26, 2002 at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Henderson’s Funeral Home, Pastor Gregg Byers officiating. Interment to follow at the Chilliwack Cemeteries. Casketbearers, Jonathan De Valk, Justin Paterson, Chris Paterson, James Petford, Ryan Kells, and Shaun Kells.
Should family and friends so desire, donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, or the Canadian Cancer Society.
