Jim passed away unexpectedly at age 67.
He was foremost a family man, all of his life. It began with his parents Robert and Leona (deceased), his siblings Richard (Toni), Lynda, Debbie (Hank) and his Mackie clan.
Time spent in cadets, militia, truck driving, work in the lumber and mining industries, as well as, playing softball created many opportunities for him to bring people into his family. He was especially proud of his 32 years and the lifelong friendships he developed while working for the Corrections Services of Canada before his retirement as a Correctional Supervisor in 2008.
After his marriage to Terry in 1974 and the births of their children Heather (Mike), James, and Jennifer (Mark), Jim included all extended family or friends, they brought to him, especially his own grandchildren Isaac, Elise, Taylor, Daisy, Violet, Anna, Julia, and Rachel.
Jim generously shared time, fish he caught, game he hunted, and crops he grew. He loved taking care of his "family" and appreciated those who took care of him.

A memorial service will be held at the Sardis Fellowship Baptist Church, 45187 Wells Road, Chilliwack, August 16, 2018 at 1:00 pm.
