James (Jim) Barnes passed away comfortably on Monday, April 24 at Heritage Village, Chilliwack in his 95th year. He was born in Cowdenbeath, Scotland and is survived by brothers: George (Margaret), Arthur (Nellie), nieces and nephews in Scotland.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 58 years, Marion, and three daughters: Linda (Nicholas) Christopher, Catherine Sonntag, Grace (Ron) Courtney, Stephanie VanDyke and Stuart (Allison) Reaugh; Laurie (Rob), Tara, Jana Jardine.
Jim will be remembered with love for his unwavering loyalty, pride in his family, a strong sense of values and a delightful and pointed sense of humour. He was an enthusiastic sportsman throughout his life.
Thank you to Heritage Village staff and all his other “caregivers”, especially in the last few years.
