James Duncan MOFFAT

Jim passed away in Chilliwack, British Columbia on May 18, 2005 at the age of 73. Jim was born on January 4, 1932 in Toronto, Ontario where his family founded and operated the Moffat Stove Company of Weston.

Jim is survived by his loving family, daughter Tobi Hawley and her husband Robert and their son Logan of Cave Creek, Arizona; sister Nancy Scarth and her husband Lloyd and their children Jean, George, Robert in Osgoode, Ont.; stepsons Harold, Todd, Greg and Jay Heakes.

He is predeceased by his parents James M. and Beulah L. Moffat.

Jim shared a home in Chilliwack with his wife Elaine who passed away six months ago. He loved the north and its people and received high recognition for spending 25 years working with the Ministry of Education for the Northwest Territories.

As a teen, Jim was a lieutenant. in the sea cadets. An avid outdoorsman, he played ice hockey and became a ski instructor. One of his hobbies was carpentry as he build his own home in Yellowknife.

A celebration of Jim‚s life was held Wednesday May 25th at the Best Western Hotel in Chilliwack, B.C.
