James D. THOMAS

James Dan Thomas passed away after a two year battle with cancer on February 12, 2005, at the age of 83.

He lived his whole life on Seabird Island, where he was a log faller for 40 years. He also was an agricultural farmer. His hobbies were bingo, Pow Wow’s and canoe races, and watching his grandchildren play.

James was predeceased by his first wife Ruby Thomas, and second wife Judy Thomas; parents, Matilda and Dan Thomas; daughter Rosie Pat Charlie; grandson Christopher Pat Charlie; sisters, Susan Adolph, Helen Billy, Mary Agnes Thomas, Katherine Thomas, and Susan Rose Thomas; brothers, Henry D. Thomas, Fred Thomas, Charlie D. Thomas, Mossees Louie, and Adam Louie.

James is survived by his sister Elizabeth Herrling; son Henry Morgan Thomas (Myra); daughter Hazel Bob; grandchildren, Martha and Wilfred Charlie; 43 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Prayers were held at the Seabird Island Roman Catholic Church, Tuesday, Feb. 15, at 7 p.m. Funeral Services were held Wednesday, Feb. 16 at 10 am in the Seabird Island Gym.
